Focus and Scope

The electronic Journal of Health Informatics (eJHI) is an international journal committed to scholarly excellence and dedicated to the advancement of Health Informatics and information technology in healthcare. It is a journal for all health professions and informaticians of all levels. eJHI aims to publish original, high quality papers related to Health Informatics and health informatics technology in a timely fashion. It aims to provide health care workers with a readily accessible, electronic vehicle for sharing information about research, knowledge, experiences, perceptions and wisdom with colleagues involved in all facets of health informatics and health information technology.

Peer Review Process

The eJHI invites you to submit your manuscript. Topics covered will deal with the theoretical and practical aspects of health informatics and informatics technology as they relate to all areas of health care. The eJHI recognises the value of both the academic and practice-based perspectives in Health Informatics and health information technology. Therefore manuscripts are sought from all sectors of these disciplines. The eJHI is committed to scholarly excellence. Therefore manuscripts submitted for consideration in the peer-reviewed section of the Journal will undergo a peer review according to DEST Higher Education Research Data Collection criteria. All submitted papers will be peer-reviewed by independent reviewers. Usually two or three reviewers will review one paper. Ususally, the journal uses a single-blind peer-review process (i.e. authors do not know who the reviewers are, but reviewers do know who the authors are). Authors concerned that this practice may bias reviewers in their particular circumstances, may request during the submission process to the editor that a double-blind peer-review process is being used for their submitted paper. It is then the author''s responsibility to submit a manuscript that does not contain any information linking the paper to the authors. Also, upon completion of the review process authors must provide a final version that includes the required personal information on the authors (see Author guidelines and template).
